How To Resolve iPhone Email Errors

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch are giving you the following errors after you add your UK2 email account, follow the instructions in this knowledge base article to resolve them. (Please note that email addresses have been removed from the examples below.)

Step 1: Go to the “Settings” app and then select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

Step 3: Select your “SMTP” server. Then select the “PRIMARY SERVER,” “mail.uk2.net.”

Step 4: Although the “User Name” and “Password” fields here say optional, this is not the case with UK2 email accounts. Please put your email address in the “User Name” field, and your email address’s password in the “Password” field.

Next, click on “Authentication, ” and then click “Password.”

We recommend that you have “Use SSL” as on, but it is okay if it is not. If the switch has green next to it, it is on. If the green has only gray around it (as shown in the example), it is off. Whatever you choose, make sure you have the correct corresponding port.

If “Use SSL” is ON, then “Server Port,” should be 465

If “Use SSL” is OFF, then “Server Port,” should be 587

After you have all of these settings correct, just click “Done” in the top right-hand corner.
