What is cPanel?
cPanel, (not to be confused with the CHI control panel), is the graphical user interface used on our shared hosting services. You can access your site files here, create and manage databases, redirects, sub-domains, aliases (parked domains), and create additional FTP accounts, all in an easy-to-navigate graphical interface.

There are several tools, however, we are only going to look at the basics. Icons and sections may be in different orders for each account. The main tools we will look at are:
File Manager
This is used to access and edit files and directories for your web hosting account. You can also upload new files, however, File Manager generally has an upload size limit of around 25MB. In all cases, we strongly recommend using FTP for any file uploads/downloads.
MySQL Databases
Here, you can create and delete databases and assign/create users for said databases.
phpMyAdmin
A graphical tool used to view and edit the contents of databases. Below is an example. On the left there is a list of databases, clicking on one shows what tables it has. You can then click on a table to see its contents. 
Addon Domains
These are additional domains you add to the account, they will function individually even though they are not the main domain. You can add addon domains from the Addon domains page in CHI, or from the page in cPanel. It is highly recommended you use the page in CHI.
Redirects
This tool is used to redirect one URL to another. There are temporary redirects, permanent redirects, and wildcard redirects. 301 redirects are permanent, they will never change. 302 are temporary and tell the browser that this redirect is only temporary. Wildcard redirects in cPanel make it so any sub-directories of a domain (for example uk2.net/directory1) get redirected to another address.
MultiPHP INI Editor
The MultiPHP INI Editor is a tool that is used to offer a graphical interface for editing the php.ini file. The php.ini file is a configuration file for PHP. It is where you declare changes to your local PHP settings. Our servers are already configured with standard settings for PHP, which your site will use by default.
