Google Analytics is the industry standard when tracking visitor data on your website. If you have WordPress Premium hosting through UK2.net you can easily set up analytics with the steps provided within this guide.

Step 1: Sign Up For A Google Analytics Account

Sign up for a free Google Analytics account by visiting https://analytics.google.com in your web browser.

Enter your Gmail account information by entering your username and password.
If you don’t have a Gmail account, click “Create account” and follow the steps provided to signup and get started.
Click “Sign up”.
Under the “What would you liked to track?” heading, select the “website” option. Create a preferred account name and enter your Website URL, industry category, website name and the reporting time zone to get started.
Click “Get Tracking ID”. This ID will tie your website to Google’s monitoring system.
Read and accept Google’s Terms of Service.

Step 2: Obtain Your Tracking ID

Google will use your unique tracking ID to relay statistics from your website and provide you with the valuable information. Your tracking ID will appear similar to the one seen below.

Step 3: Sign Into Your WordPress Admin Dashboard

Access your WordPress Admin dashboard in one of two ways:
Click on the WordPress tab in your CHI account, then “Go to WordPress Admin Area”, or...
Go to www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin, making sure that you replace “yourdomain” with your website’s URL.

Step 4: Install The Insert Header And Footer Plugin

Click the “Plugins” tab in the menu on the left hand side of your WordPress dashboard.
Click “Add New”.
Type “Insert Header and Footer” into the search bar and select the following plugin:
Click “Install Now”

Step 5: Enter Your Tracking Script Into The Footer Settings

The plugin you downloaded should automatically add a “Insert Header and Footer” button to your settings. You will need to add your tracking ID script to this section. You can do so by following the steps below:

Navigate to the “Settings” menu and then click the “Insert Headers and Footers” tab.
Copy the website tracking script from your Google Analytics Tracking ID page.
Paste the script to the “Scripts in Footer” section of the plugin.
Click “Save”.

Step 6: Track Your Progress From Your Google Analytics Account

Google Analytics will begin tracking your information in 48 hours. You can view any analytics information about your website by signing into https://analytics.google.com/ and clicking on the “Reporting” tab.
